Scene 1: Outside a Hollywood studio, the Pumpkins are lounging around after
finishing a video.
Billy: We've still got about six hours before we gotta get to the
airport...I can't believe we finished that fast!
James: All the editing should be done tomorrow, they'll send us a copy up in
Chicago, right?
Billy: Right.
Jimmy: Aww, crap! (Pulls a big ring of keys out of his pocket) We forgot to
give the director his studio key back, where do you think he is now?
D'arcy: He said he had a meeting up in Santa Monica, and then he'd be back
for the editing tomorrow...wait a second, you've got the studio key? Bonus!
(Grabs the keys and runs to the studio door. The rest of the Pumpkins
follow, laughing)
Scene 2: Inside the studio, Billy, Jimmy, and D'arcy are dressed in cowboy
outfits against a backdrop of a stormy night. Pan up to James pouring "rain"
on them out of a watering can.
(ZERO Intro)
Billy, Jimmy, and D'arcy are rockin' out Zero as the fake lightning and
thunder kick in.
"My reflection, dirty mirror, is no connection to myself"
James pours the whole watering can on Billy's head while he's singing.
"I'm your lover, I'm a zero, I'm a face in your dreams of glass"
Billy's cowboy hat is knocked off, the Pumpkins are beside themselves with
laughter, forgetting to lip synch and play along.
"So save your prayers for when you're really gonna need 'em..."
They quickly shed the cowboy costumes, running in to the next set.
"Throw out your cares and fly..."
The Pumpkins run behind a tree on a set that looks like the Canals of Venice,
making it rustle as they change their clothes.
"Wanna go for a ride?"
Close-up of Billy's face, in perfect Madonna makeup (sans wig).
"She's the one for me, she's all I really need, oh yeah..."
Cut to a boat on the canal, Jimmy paddling, Billy dancing around in a Madonna
costume, James wearing a silly lion mask, and D'arcy slumped over the side
laughing, dragging her hand in the water.
"She's the one for me..."
Jimmy taps James on the shoulder with the oar, then points to another door.
"Emptiness is lonliness and lonliness is cleanliness"
Cut to a desolate street, littered with grafitti and overturned trash cans.
"And cleanliness is godliness and god is empty just like me...intoxicated
with the madness, I'm in love with my sadness, bullshit fakers, enchanted
kingdoms, the fashion victims chew their charcoal teeth..."
The Pumpkins run out in Zombie costumes, re-enacting the dance number from
Thriller down to the letter, then make a break for the next door, not quite
able to stop laughing.
"I never let on that I was on a sinking ship, I never let on that I was
down...you blame yourself for what you can't ignore, you blame yourself for
wanting more"
Cut to a pool hall full of gangsters, Billy and D'arcy knife-fighting in a
neatly choreographed scene, James and Jimmy messing around and laughing at
them.
"She's the one for me, she's all I really need, oh yeah...She's the one for
me..."
Studio security guards bust in the door,the gangsters run, leaving the
Pumpkins to their own devices. They look at the cops...then to each
other...then to the door...
"She's my one...and only"
They run like hell, slamming the door and locking it behind them!
