After I read the lyrics to "wound" on Machina, a video came to me right
away...
I see the song as from kind of a biblical perspective, as it contains a lot
of christian symbols and allusions.
The video would be with billy as a God figure, looking into the world
below...
it starts out with an obvious reference to adam and eve, ("in bathing
light/and naked blur"), so i think that the video should span from the
beginning as billy sees it in this song with creation,the first fall(eve
taking the apple with the snake) and through to the modern destruction of
the world.
At the lines "last night I turned around....inside the strangest dream.."
Billy goes into a dream, and sees a preview of how mankind has ended up....
The song progresses to the Cain and Abel story of the first murder("wound
opens/reveal this broken man/and soon theres notions/of blood on his
hands").
In the "wait i will wait/taste i will taste..." part it should show billy
again, making a kind of proclomation in his sleep, as if to tell man not to
fuck everything up.
The song then switches to modern day man in a blur of war, greed, poverty,
death, etc., as Billy realizes it's been "to spite god above/with his own
love".
The video ends with Billy waking up from the dream with tears in his eyes...
I don't know where the other members of the band should appear...maybe with
as melissa as eve and james and jimmy as cain and abel??
Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying this song is about christian creation or
anything, i just think it would make for a good video!
