Intro.
A record player is all that is visible, with a record (black vinyl and looks
like it has been played a lot). The needle picks up, and drops on the
record. The song starts.
The tape player effects
the record player fades into Billy, sitting at a coffee table, talking.
There is a tape recorder on the table. Every time a "click" plays on the
song, he hits the stop button.
Heavy guitars start
The band, all in red, are playing in a wherehouse-type room. They rock
steady until...
The verses
Right when the guitars quiet down, you see Jimmy playing away on his drum
set. Shot changes to Billy: singing the verses. He's pissed.
"Love is a sentimental...Life is a sentimental..."
Billy walking in a park (in black and white)
"Spy the fragile heart so cursed... as he walks across this earth.."
Bill wanders around the park, and people stare as they walk by him. He is
wearing a regular black shirt/ black leather pants. But somehting is
wrong...
"i'm disconnected by your smile"
back to the band, playing, with Billy singing.
Tape effects again
Him sitting at the table, talking
"and all i gave to you is lost"
him walking around again, but singing this time.
"i'm disconnected by your smile"
band playing in red, just as before.
guitar solo
Billy walks around, as he gets mad, for the people are staring. he starts
running.
"i'm disconnected by you smile" while guitar solo
he is running through chicago urban streets. The people stare
guitar solo 2
James is playing, in the wherehouse. The screen shot keeps going back to
Billy running.
"wishing you were real to me"
We see Billy and his girlfriend. Billy walks out of the apartment.
"i'll take my secrets to the grave safely held beneath the waves"
Billy runs, and sees the Lake. He's ready to jump in.
"always knew i couldnt save you"
flashing back between the fight, Billy running, and the band playing. We see
Jimmy singing the backup "youuuuuu".
The guitars fade.
The band playing view fades
"and in my heart i know you're gone"
Billy is sitting, in black-and-white playing with an acoustic guitar.
Coda
Billy playing, after he sings "gonnne" fades to the record player again, but
this time, the record is at the label. It picks up, and the camera zooms out
so you can see the record label. It has an aeroplane on the label (see the
aeroplane flies high box set- booklet cover) and says "Smashing Pumpkins.
The Aeroplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right)". As the needle picks up
and the record stops, leaving, in plain view, the label.
