As the quiet intro starts there are little children running around a house playing tag. The setting in the house is like a birthday party or a family reunion. The adults are laughing at the kids watching them play. Then the main boy (for this interpretation) is out of the game( he got tagged). He feels very alone and all the adults and kids he was playing with are laughing at him and making fun of him because he got tagged. He makes his way to the door of the house in plans to run away. Nobody notices because they're all in such deep laughter. As the distortion part starts the boy slams the door to the house as the glass in the door cracks. He makes his way down his driveway on his journey away from home. As he is walking down the neighborhood sidewalk he watches several birds fly by. He is thinking of a way for him to maybe fly away from home forever. Every once in a while its hows the band playing in what is maybe a park. It is trash day and everybodys trash is at the end of their driveway. The boy gathers parts from each driveway in hopes to build wings to fly away. At the part "No one knows where our secrets go" he studys very carefully the flight of a bird that flys by and how it sails through the air. As the second verse starts up he is still walking down the sidewalk gathering parts while images of his family making fun of him in the back of his head. He pulls out a raggedy piece of paper and starts to draw the wings he will build. He starts building them with the parts he has collected. Once they are built during the second chorus he tries jumping off the ground twice to fly away, but it doesn't happen. The third time right before the solo he does a quick sign of the cross on his forehead. Right before the solo starts the camera shows from a different angle a quick wind blowing his way. The camera follows the wind and it takes the boy into the air right as the solo starts. He is amazed that it worked. He is enjoying the view of the neighborhood watching everything over him. He starts thinking about his family again and misses home. During "Mother weep the years im missing all our time cant be given back" he sees smoke coming from his families chimney formed in the words "Come home Danny". He is sad. As the distortion starts up again he flies towards his home. He finally lands back in his driveway back where he started, the glass still cracked, goes inside as the quiet outro begins. His family come running for him and give him hugs and kiss him and as the outro fades he winks to the camera. The End
Mike Hinkle mikehinkle@cyberjam.com The setting is at night and the Pumpkins van pulls up to a school having a play of some sort. All the members take their instruments and sneak backstage. They start setting up on this big metal stage-like thing.During the setting up the camera flips from the play to the members putting the equipment on the thing (note:the music is playing so you can't actually hear the play, duh). Then the Pumpkins get on the stage and it lifts them to the top of the auditorium roof (but no one sees it yet). *Shut my mouth and strike the demons...* is when the Pumpkins slowly get lifted down as they are playing the song.Naturally, the parents are freaking out and wondering what was up.The teacher is acting like she knows what's up.Even the kids are temporarily stunned. But,by *Can anybody hear me?...*the kids were mouthing the words and cheering til the video fades out. By David Baughman : spaceboyrocket@mad.scientist.com follow along with the song at the same time of the lyric passage or it might confuse you :) -music starts- you see a teenage girl in a normal teenage room, with celebrety posters, pictures of freinds on the walls, ect. but when the camera zoomz closer you see a not so normal girl. She is thin sleepless and depressed looking and she is wearing the most-beautiful-you've-ever-seen yet plain spegehtti strap dress that covers her toes with flowing white layers. her eyes glow with a magnificant blue light, her lips are red stained and pouty, and her black hair is pinned back. She slowely leaves her room in to the main hall (wich is very fancy and rich looking) and to the door. -guitars start to play- she opens the door- it's midnight-dark outside and you only see a big green hill that takes up almost half of the view, but thats okay because the sky is briliantly and most stunningly laced with stars that turn on and off like a strobe light. shooting stars explode like fireworks. -"fool eunough to almost be it..."- you see the girl running up the hill and thrugh a dark forest her dress is flowing behind her like a flame in the wind. -"pick your pockets full of sorrow..."- girl stops only to take of her shoes and then runs faster -"we'll try to ease the pain somehow feel the same..."- she almost trips but continues running faster entil her hair is loose and wild -"I send a heart..."- as she runs she disturbs the sleep of millions of white moths sleeping on the ground and a few inches before she has a chance to step on them... -"dream..."- they fly away -"and i fail..."- she now is proceeding thrugh a pool of blackish mood that stains her dress half black and slows her down. she struggles trough it -music- the pool of mud slowely as she runs turns in to a shallow sea of clear water.................... she stops when the water is at her neck -"mother weep the years..."- she is now floating on her back on the surface of the steady water. camera zoom to her face and her eyes closes -"back..."- she smiles -"shut my mouth and strike the demons..."- camera is still zoomed to her face and you see her slowely sinking -"feeling so bad..."- intel she not seen any longer -"when i can i will..."- view of the ocean that suddenly strikes up angry waves -"fool enough to almost be it..."- camera slowely retraces her steps from the sea... to the blackish mud pool... to the forest... to the big green hill and the beautifull night sky... to the fancy hall way... and to the normal bedroom... -quiet music starts to play- camera point and slowely zooms in to one of her pictures on the wall. its a picture of a happy normal girl posing with a happy normal familly.
