Just before the opening piano session begins, a black limo pulls up to the
curb outside a giant mansion. It's night time, but very cloudy outside.
There are lots of people outside the mansion, some gawkers, some reporters,
and there's a velvet rope on either side of the walkway to the door, all
implying this is a very big party with a lot of famous people in attendance.
The door of the black limo opens, and the second it does so, the music
begins. A woman in a red dress gets out alone. She closes the door behind
her, and walks up the walkway. She reaches the door just as the lyrics
begin. The door opens to reveal a giant well lit ballroom, frought with
people, all dancing. In the center of the far wall is a stage, and on it,
the band is performing. The camera stays at the doorway, as the woman walks
in, and when she sits down at a table at the edge of the room, it pulls back
to reveal a young man standing behind the velvet rope at the end of the
walk. This is about the time Billy is singing "Your life is not your own."
The young man inhales deeply and hops the rope, walking up the walkway.
There's a man at the door, who's been checking people, and as he gets up
there, this man stops him. He appears to know the young man, and doesn't
like him much. They argue briefly. As "Who am I to need you now" is sung,
another, distinguished looking man appears from within the mansion. He seems
to be the host of the party, and also seems to know the young man. The young
man appears to expalin the situation and the host laughingly lets him in.
The young man is wearing jeans and a jacket, and he sticks out like a sore
thumb in his surroundings, but nonetheless, he moves in and sits down. As
"And you may go, but I know you won't leave" is sung by Billy on stage, the
young man scans the dancers from his table and catches the woman in the red
dress dancing with a handsome man. As "Who am I to need you now" is sung
the second time, the young man gets up and walks over to the woman and the
handsome man. He apparently asks her to dance. The handsome man snubs him,
but the woman smiles at him, and lets go of the astonished handsome man, and
begins to dance with the young man. They dance for a while, but then as
Billy sings. "You were never meant to belong to me" the third time in a row,
they stop. The young man looks expectant, but the woman only walks back to
the handsome man, and they continue dancing. The young man goes back to his
table, obviously disappointed. As the song fades out he turns around and
sees the woman and the handsome man dancing, but then he looks up to the
stage. Billy, James and D'arcy are all smiling at him (in a nice, but not
sappy way) and he smiles back, knowing they're saying "At least you tried"
