The set. The band plays in a dark empty room with just them and their equipment, large amps, etc. The room looks out onto a balcony on the top of a large building.
At the start whilst the distortion plays the camera flies down city streets swaying slightly until it focuses on one building and goes towards the front door. When the distortion speeds up the camera moves very fast up the building and stops at the balcony. The balcony window s open and the curtains are blowing in the wind, the band can be seen on the inside and as they start to play the camera moves through the window. For the first verse the camera moves around the band pausing at each one in one fluid movement as if the whole video is taken with one shot. When the camera moves to a member of band they stare into it whilst singing and/or playing. The camera always views the band members from the kneeup so never sees the floor of the room. Finally towards the end of theverse the camera focuses in on Billy, when he pauses before the "love is suicide" bit the camera zooms over his shoulder and the straight down to the floor. As Billy sings "love is…" the camera moves around very close to the floor. The floor is covered with beetles and cockroaches, the camera follows them around in the same way it did with the band. As the "love is…" part finishes the camera follows a single cockroach which crawls up Billy's boot, when the second verse starts the camera moves up Billy's leg and focuses on him singing again. For the second verse the camera again moves around the band in the sameway as it did before. When Billy sings "no bodies…" the camera moves back to the top corner of the room and looks down on the band. The bugs can now be seen moving around the band feet and equipment. When the music slows for "love is…" the band stop their frantic playing, as this happens the room explodes with colour from the floor as hundreds of butterflies fly up and around the band. The camera moves back in around the band as before and occasionally following the butterflies, the band doesn't look at the camera this time instead they watch the butterflies. The third verse starts and the band continues their frantic playing. The camera moves backwards out of the room through the open window and stops in front of the balcony again, watching all the butterflies flying out of the window. With the chord change the butterflies stop coming out of the room and the camera swoops back in focusing on and moving around the band again. Just before the change to "no bodies…" the camera focuses on Billy's torso. When the music slows and Billy sings "no bodies…" he moves his right hand to the middle of the view of the camera. His hand is closed and he slowly opens it revealing a butterfly in his palm, it sits for a second and then flaps and flies away. Billy now sings "love is…" again and the camera follows the butterfly out of the room very closely. The butterfly flies around outside and then some more butterflies come into view and fly with it. When the singing stops the butterflies fly back towards the balcony where D'Arcy is standing watching them. The butterflies fly past D'Arcy's face and she turns to watch them go. The camera is still again and now stays on D'Arcy. As the music stops Billy walks out of the room through the curtains and D'Arcy turns back to the camera and smiles. David Turner smu98dt@reading.ac.uk Intro. Band dressed in black stand on a stage, ready to start rocking. Very dark atmosphere, most of the lights are out. Guitars kick in and the band start playing. A few seconds later, you see a dark road (kinda like in the LostHighway promo, only combined with Radiohead's Karma Police video). The road is moving fast forward, making left turns, and right turns, passing slower cars…Singing starts and back to the band. During the first verse the camera switchesback and forth from the band to the dark road, until "love is suicide", during which the camera moves up from the road into the starry sky and then moves back down to the road. During "the empty bodies stand at rest…" part it's all the band rocking and Billy singing the lyrics. Quiet "love is suicide" part. Camera is back on the road, only this time in slow motion. As the "love is… oh" part comes in the camera gradually starts to gain speed until it's fully back to the regular speed. Second verse like the first one - camera switches back and forth from the band to the road. When the "but nobodies ever knew…" part where it's only lyrics and drums comes, camera switches back and forth form Billy to Jimmy, and then back to the road when the guitars kick in again. During the last "love is suicide" part, the video is at its peak. Road is extremely fast and flashes back and forth to Billy who is singing the line. When the song finally ends the camera sort of staggers upwards into the stars, and fades to black. SomazooM soma_zoom@altavista.net *You see the band in a medium-sized, dark room, standing on stage. They are all dressed in black suits and ties, even D'Arcy. The camera pans out to see a smallish crowd standing around them, indicating that they are at a secrety concert. All of the people are also wearing suits and ties and are completely still as is the band, until the beginning feedback gets shrill. When that happens, everyone twitches to the side and then jumps and suddenly, they're all in normal concert drab, including the band. Everyone is moshing and the band is rawkin' out.* (Cast the pearls aside. Of a simple life of need. Come into my life forever.) *You see several shots of the band and of the fans.* *The crumbled cities stand as know. Of the sights you have been shown. Of the hut you call your own. You know, you know.* (You see a man standing in the corner of the room. He has a black T-shirt and black jeans on and looks very disjointed. He looks across from himself and sees a beautiful woman wearing a short, sexy, black dress. She looks over at him, smiles, and signals him to follow her out the door. He waits a moment but then obeys, and the 2 leave the concert.) *Love is suicide.* (For the first, 'LIS', you see Billy singing again. Then the camera changes over and you see the couple making out madly. On the 2nd to last 'LIS', the woman pulls away and opens a large door and pulls him in with her.) *The empty bodies stand at rest. Casualties of their own flesh. Afflicted by their disposition.* (You see the woman lead the man down a long flight of stairs and maybe once or twice flash back to Billy giving a sickly evil smile.) *But no bodies ever knew. Nobodys. No bodies felt like you. Nobodys. .* (They get to the end of their journey and the man is horrified to find a rooms filled with dead bodies. They all have their eyes sewn shut and some are missing a limb. He turns to the woman shocked, and she smiles at him as she pushes him against a wall stabs him in the stomach.) *Love is suicide..* (You see the man crawl to the top of the stares, bleeding. He looks very pale and weak and collapses. Also a few shots of the band.) *Love is.Ohhh.* (You see Billy again. Then you see a woman jumping up and down holding a sign that reads, 'I Love You Billy!'. He rolls his head back and then looks into the camera as he sings, 'Ohhh'.) *Now we drive the night, to the ironies of peace. You can't help deny forever. The tragedies reside in you, the secret sights hide in you, the lonely nights divide you to in two into.* (You see Billy and the same woman walk into a small apartment. Then they start kissing very passionately up against a wall. Each is taking turns taking control of the other. You also see several shots of Billy and the band. Just as Billy sings, 'To in two into' the woman reveals a knife behind her back.) *All my blisters now revealed, in the darkness of my dreams, in the spaces in between us. But no bodies ever knew, nobodys, no bodies felt like you, nobodys.* (Billy pulls the woman's head back by her hair. She looks somewhat stunned. Just then Billy pulls his face up momentarily and then sinks his teeth into the woman's neck. You see shots on the band and of Billy biting the woman and of her getting weaker and of the knife falling to the floor until Billy finally lets her slide to the floor dead. Billy turns around as the calm, 'No bodies.' is being sung and you see blood covering his mouth and chin. As the calm 'Nobodys.' ends, you see Billy walk away. Right before he leaves, you see him gently bend down and lick the woman's neck.) *2nd No Bodies..* (You see an up close view of Billy singing, still bloody, until the 'nobodys' ends.) *Love is suicide.* (You finally see one of Billy's arms outstretched and D'Arcy biting and feeding from his wrists. You also see James on one side of the stage and Jimmy on the other. Each are feeding from a previous 'fan' and then throw them off the stage to reveal a heap of dead bodies. You then see several frightened 'fans' up against the back walls. For the final pops of sound you see the band again twitch and are standing in suits again but still have blood around their mouths.) By Patty Blair : OwenaX24@yahoo.com it starts out w/ footage of people running in races from the 1930s then as he satrts saying "no bodies" it turns into footage of garave yards and then you see the whole band playing in the grave yard and a bunch of kids come and their jumpin around and smashing pumpkins on the head stones and then when he starts syaing "love is suicide" for the second time they start playing footage of people being electracuted on the electric chair and then it goes back to the pumpkins playing and the kids jumpkins around and then right before the song ends you see a big flashback of the whole video. By alex craig: Acpumpkins@aol.com "starts off in the rooling hills in scotland" faded scene than turns to a catacomb like sorrunding(when the music starts) with old tourches. etc and various things can be seen as we pass by the hall of the catacombs that some doors are open and some are not. And it goes in one room with like a torture chamber in the background in billy in front and he starts singing."cast the perls aside" ect goes in thru diffrent rooms depicteing different scenes and in a couple of rroms we see either James or darcy or booth of them together or the hole group.
