Aaron's Notes: Honestly is Zwan's first studio released song played on Q101 and many other radio stations on 11/21/2002. It has some similarities to the Smashing Pumpkins, although I think Corgan has done what he wanted and created another beast.
Will's Notes: Honestly is one of Zwan's more poppy songs, along the lines of The Shining Path, only more upbeat. It's a nice summation of Zwan's softer songs, bright, dynamic and breath-takingly beautiful. The lyrics are simple and catchy, but not dumb by a longshot. A nice look at love and a very solid debut for Zwan.
Corgan says that "Honestly" came very quickly. "I just kind of wrote it as an, an acoustic kind of song, and I came in and we played it very slow," Corgan said. "And it sounded very nice slow, and I said, 'But I hear this other sort of thing,' and, and then it just kinda clicked, and that was it. About an hour later, pretty much the way you hear it, that's pretty much how it was."
