August 5, 1998 - Grand Ole Opry - Nashville, TN, US Concert review by sp fan Interesting place to see the Pumpkins play. The Opry shares a backstage area with the studios for the old TNN (the BET of country music that's since been converted to Spike!). The day of the Smashing Pumpkins show the Oakridge Boys were back there taping a show at the same time. My friends and I managed to sneak back there and saying it was an interesting afternoon hanging out with such a diverse group was interesting to say the least.
