July 15, 1998 - All Sports Stadium - Oklahoma City, OK, US Concert review by Michael Alexander (mique dot tea at gmail dot com) The show was surreal... seeing my heroes eye to eye at last... those who had succeeded in melodically documenting the angst and passion of my youth.... I stood feeble in the presence of greatness.... D'arcy scolded the crowd for throwing water bottles.... Billy shrugged and said he didn't know what D'arcy was talking about (dissension was obvious)... Jimmy was gone at this point... James was sullen... at the end of it all, James grabbed a microphone and was on his knees yelling at the crowd amidst a personal meltdown... The show was one of the high points of my youth... yet it remains, in my mind at least, an outward symptom that the machine that had been was anemic and dying... Years later, I still lament the fact that I did not see them before Billy cut his hair... that was the real turning point... the point at which the graceful swans of never began to topple to the earth...
