July 16, 2007 - The Fillmore - San Francisco, CA, US Concert review by Hatmandude (sz1 at pacbell dot net) After seeing the first night my expcetations were a bit lower and boy were they BLOWN AWAY. This shows was amazing- almost like seeing a completely different band. Billy figured out that it was much better to open with the acoustic numbers and then launch into the ruckus. The best part was the song selection being much more evenly woven of new and old songs, thereby keeping the crowd REALLY connected and into it. The energy was fantastic and he held our interest through the whole 3 hours and had some interesting soap-box pessimistic rantings that he later semi-apologized for by saying he was joking, although it certainly didn't seem like it at the time. All in all an EPIC show that showcased the best of what the Smashing Pumkins are. Rock on dude...rock on!
