July 15, 2007 - The Fillmore - San Francisco, CA, US Concert review by Hatmandude The much hyped first gig of their 11 night Fillmore residency was Billy as Guitar Hero all the way. They blasted out of the gate and for the first hour was interesting, but by the second hour when the acoustic numbers were played, the crowd lost focus. To really enjoy the 3rd hour, you had to be willing to go where Billy took you and not expect coherent songs- just lots of extended grunge/psychedelic guitar jams- which I personally liked, but I could sense many among thre audience wanting more coherence. Billy indulged...himself..and it was interesting, but not epic.
