August 6, 1991 - Cat's Cradle - Carrboro, NC, US Concert review by stephen (secondmotion (AT) nc dot rr dot com) actually this was Chapel Hill, NC not Carrboro as at the time the Cradle was on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill before it moved a few blocks away to Carrboro several years later. This is almost exactly two months before both Nirvana and Pearl Jam both played the Cradle. Amazing time. I don't remember too much except that there were probably less than 100 people there (school was not back in yet) which I remember vividly because my friend was up booking classes for second year orientation at NC State and I forced him to go to the show (which he in turn became one of the biggest fans I\'ve ever known).. there were also no advance tickets from what I remember because they were not known at all at the time. I remember the crowd was going crazy, who knew they were on the verge of something here.. but I just knew they were a great band and I used to always say they were the next Janes Addiction..wish i could find a boot or video of this show but surely none exist b/c it was such a vastly attending show.. but the band was on full form. the entire band minus Darcy came out to greet fans afterwords too I remember staying behind to chat with Billy and remember his knuckles were bleeding on his hand from playing the guitar so hard. my friend had all of them sign the poster from the wall in the club which hung from his college room all the way until we graduated years later.
