June 3, 2003 - Paradiso - Amsterdam, Netherlands Concert review by James Anyhow, a total surprise with Mick Heart from Australia opening up for Zwan. I congratulating him after the show as he was at the merchandise booth selling CDs. Zwan - very excellent. The overall impression I got was just how sincere billy was. He seemed really over welmed at the response he got from the crowd, and seemed to be really enjoying himself. From the whole jig he and paz did at one point, to the extended soloing he and matt sweeney did, he was great. Best song of the night was Mary Star of the Sea, with billy getting some awesome noises out of the flying V he had strapped on for the tune. Overall I was very impressed with Zwan. They put on a great rock and roll show. Maybe a little to much extended jamming at some points, but overall it was a tight gig from a group of very accomplished musicians. Please come back soon to the Netherlands zwan, it was a great first impression.
