April 8, 2003 - Hard Rock Live - Orlanda, FL, US Concert review by Aant (Aant64 at aol dot com) Well, as many of you don’t know, our hard rock is next to islands of adventure and universal studios. Along with a whole bunch of different cheesy themed restaurants. I had a good feeling about jimmy buffet’s margarita vill when I passed it. Turns out the man himself Billy Corgan was eating there right as we passed (damm). So I went with my sister and my best friend and stood in a long line we finally got to go in after a half hour or so. There was a collection of different pumpkins t-shirts. There where few Zwan shirts. There was the rambunctious group ‘the Z heads’ as we called them. They sported the baseball cap with a big card board Z on them (about 5 of them… good guys). We walked in and the hard rock was blasting the cheesy Spanish music (don’t know what the hell was up with that). After a wile I met up with another good friend of mine (for those of you who care). We bought our novelty t-shirts for $20 a pop! The lights dimmed and Matt came out and introduced the children’s hour (They looked like they wondered off a farm). Good music. Cranberries mixed with Radiohead vibe (with Pajo the nice guy he is, playing the drums). I liked it. After about a half hour the lights dimmed again and the wetting of the pants commenced. The band stormed on stage. Loud cheers all around for Mr. Corgan. He was graciously taking it all in with a big smile. Mary star of the sea was the first song on the set. That was so incredibly awesome I was speechless. Lyric, followed by yeah! I think it was then the beetles ‘don’t let me down’. I don’t remember a whole lot after that. Just crap load after crap load of great Zwan hits. (including ‘gods gonna set the world on fire‘, but not ‘ride a black swan’). el sol, baby lets rock… just a endless list. They played a song from the up coming dolly (not spelling that right) Zwan. Very sweet. I recommend we all get it when it comes out. Paz was hot in a little skirt and doing random stretches during Jesus, I. Matt rocking the red trucker hat. And of course jimmy sounding like thunder. Every time Billy hit a note on the guitar the whole room shook! Well it was great. F’ing great if you ask me. We also got 3 (yes 3) encore‘s. well I think I have waited enough of your time. I think I’m done now. Until next time… ----Aant
